Following the death of one Monsuru Fowotade on Valentine’s Day at a birthday party in Oworosoki area of Lagos, some of his friends stormed the area yesterday in what they termed reprisal attack against those that allegedly killed him. For several hours, the area was like a war theatre, following sporadic shootings from members of the rival groups.
Was gathered that the deceased was attacked by a member of a rival group allegedly headed by the son of a traditional ruler in the area. He was said to have died at the Gbagada General Hospital from the injuries he sustained from a stab to the chest. When news of his death reached his colleagues at Ferry area, they reportedly stormed their opponents’ abodes in the early hours of yesterday, announcing their presence with volleys of bullets. Two persons were reportedly hit by bullets in the process, while several others sustained injuries as vehicles windscreens were shattered.
