Kanye West's new album already 'pirated 500,000 times'

Kanye West's new album The Life Of Pablo has already been illegally downloaded over half a million times, according to Torrent Freak.
Kanye released the album two days ago exclusively on Jay Z's subscription streaming service Tidal but the file-sharing news site has reported that within 24 hours it had already received the huge number of downloads.
My album will never never never be on Apple. And it will never be for sale… You can only get it on Tidal.

Kanye has tweeted that he will not be putting the album on Apple music or putting it up for sale, limiting people to using Tidal to access it.
Torrent Freak claimed that the number of illegal downloads was “in part fuelled by the album's limited availability”.
It reported that nearly 10,000 were sharing just one version of the album at once, “ something we haven't seen with a music release before”.

The Life Of Pablo is currently the most popular music download in the UK on site The Pirate Bay, and it features twice in their Top 10 list.
Torrent Freak's founder, who goes by the pseudonym Ernesto Van der Sar, told the BBC that the level of downloads was unusual.
He said: “Generally we don't track music releases closely, so I'm not calling any records.
“However, I haven't seen numbers this high before for a music release – not with Adele either.”
